New York's MTA Offensive to Women (Sign Petition in Protest)
Dear Friend,

I'm writing to ask you to sign a petition I've written demanding that advertisements for Thinx Underwear -- "Underwear for Women with Periods" -- be removed from the subway system in New York.

Thomas Prendergast, CEO of the Metropolitan Transit Authority said he was personally offended by these ads. Outfront Media, the advertising contractor for the MTA, found them so suggestive that they debated whether to approve them. They justified doing so after the fact by saying there had been no public outcry against them.

Please take a moment to tell the MTA and Outfront Media that you are offended and that the ads should be removed.

You can read and sign this petition by clicking here.

PLEASE NOTE: I apologize in advance for the suggestive image you will see when you click on this link. On the top of the petition, I have included one of the ads. Again, these ads are displayed in public all through the subway system. If you are offended by seeing this ad in the privacy of your own home, imagine how you would respond to seeing it on a subway platform.

You don't have to be a regular rider of the subways to express your opinion.

When you've signed, please consider forwarding this email to friends.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Regards,

Anne Rao
