Ms. Clifford has composed pieces with many and varied titles, including, "Receptive Ecumenism as Transformative Ecclesial Learning: Walking the Way to a Church Re-formed," "The Priority of Social Justice at the Second Vatican Council:: Social Justice and the Common Good since Vatican II," "Re-Membering for a Common Future: Lutherans and Catholics Commemorate the Reformation, 2017," "A Joint Commemoration of the Reformation in 2017," and "Communities of Grace: A Theology for the Mutual Recognition of the Churches."
Per Ms. Clifford’s biography on the University’s website, "Her research interests and publications are focussed primarily in the areas of ecclesiology, ecumenism, and the history of the Second Vatican Council, with a particular emphasis on the understanding of conversion and renewal of the churches, the development of doctrines, and the unity and diversity of Christian communions within the world Christian movement. These questions are of great significance given the changing role of the church in contemporary society."
This is what the Vatican has chosen to represent North America as it pertains to the final document on this Synod. And we have to ask ourselves why.
Per a recent Catholic Register article:
"Clifford said she hopes that the open and honest discussions that the synod is intended to encourage will help the Christian community acknowledge that many traditional structures and practices that once served the proclamation of the Gospel in an effective manner may no longer fit that purpose.

However, change engenders fear, she said, especially when changes are seen to be disruptive or potentially destabilizing. Several challenging themes emerged in the global listening sessions, including widespread desires that the Catholic Church do more to welcome LGBTQ people and allow women to serve in leadership positions, including in ordained ministry. "
I would like to take this opportunity to remind Ms. Clifford that there is one... ONE Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church instituted by Our Lord Jesus Himself on the rock of Saint Peter... which the gates of hell shall not prevail against. Also, Ms. Clifford, the Protestant Rebellion was by no means a "reformation" in any sense of the word. Rather, it is and was a cancerous growth spreading discord, erroneous opinion, and heresy. Furthermore, the zeitgeist may change, but Immortal Truth does not. There is unfortunately a nefarious viewpoint pervading much of modern culture that individuals are able to make their own "truths." This is the quintessence of pride and narcissism itself. Our Lord Jesus (in the beginning, now, and forever) is "the way, the truth, and the life."
Please know that this article is not intended in any way to be a hit piece on Ms. Clifford. Rather, it's meant to bring to light that the ideology she imbues... this is what the Vatican has chosen to represent North America as it pertains to the final document on this Synod. And we have to ask ourselves why. Why, when we know by the Grace of the Holy Spirit, through Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, Sensus Fidelium, and the perennial teachings of Holy Mother Church... the Truth. And through His Grace, we also know a lie when we hear one.
Pope Saint Pius X immortally stated: "modernism is the synthesis of all heresies." Let all us pray, through his intercession, for Orthodoxy in the Church.
May the Name of Jesus be praised now and forever, and Deo Gratias.
