Remnant Wins
1st Place for 'With God in China '
Los Angeles
Press Club's 52nd
Annual
Southern California
Journalism
Awards
The Remnant
Newspaper and columnist, Theresa Marie Moreau, won 1st
Place in the highly coveted News-Feature Category,
at the Los Angeles Press Club’s
52nd Annual
Southern California
Journalism
Awards.
For Moreau’s story, “With God in
China,” published in The
Remnant, in April 2009, judges wrote: “Her gripping
account of life for two
Catholic priests
in
China is superb. She calmly explains
the constant political upheaval in China, the awful effects of those
changes on Winance and Zhou -- and their unflinching
faith -- and finally, how they emerged later with
new lives. It’s a history lesson, a faith lesson and
a stark recitation of a
dark time in history.”
California Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger delivered opening remarks at the
event, which was held June 27, 2010, at the historic
Biltmore Hotel, in downtown Los Angeles, California.
