French Traditional Catholics Defy Draconian Lockdown

Yes it was cold, yes it was raining, but there was a special atmosphere with all the candles (we have no access to electricity) and we felt very close to the original nativity scene, singing "Minuits Chrétiens" to welcome our Lord Jésus.

Dear Michael, I just watched your latest Underground video. It's funny you mentioned the locked Cathédrale de Chartres and celebrating the TLM in front of a locked church because that's what we are living now in St. Germain en Laye. Remember my last email back in June? Well we are still locked out of the church there every Sunday, so we decided this year to have the Christmas midnight mass there as well. Of course we have plenty of TLM options in that area, but none in St. Germain (which is quite a big city, much like Versailles), so in order to show our determination, we organized this mass outside.

Please find some photos attached, feel free to use them as you see fit. You can notice the homeless guy on the left who usually sleeps there, he was a bit surprised by the initiative. That's fine, he is a catholic from Eastern Europe. We offered him hot chocolate and a bit to eat after the Mass, as we did for all people present.

Thank you for your video, full of hope. Being close to the ICRSP here, I know they (and all Ecclesia Dei communities) will have to make difficult choices in 2022. But it's all for the best in the end.

I wish you and your family a Holy Year 2022.

ICR.
