Glaringly Obvious Signs that the Spirit Guiding Francis’s Synod is NOT Holy

As we can grasp from the considerations that follow, the Synod on Synodality is perhaps the most vile offense against God taking place in the world today because its leaders suggest that the Holy Ghost is guiding the Synod, whereas it is obvious that the guiding spirit is Satan.

“In a synodal style, decisions are made through discernment, based on a consensus that flows from the common obedience to the Spirit.” (Synod on Synodality Preparatory Document)

Not many Catholics appear to care much about the ongoing Synod on Synodality, but it is without a doubt the most monumental initiative undertaken by Rome since the Second Vatican Council. One could even argue that it is tremendously worse than various scandals that sparked far greater alarm from Catholics since the Council: John Paul II’s Prayer Meeting at Assisi, and the various scandals from Francis, including Amoris Laetitia, the Pachamama, Traditionis Custodes, and Fiducia Supplicans, among others. And, as we can grasp from the considerations that follow, the Synod on Synodality is perhaps the most vile offense against God taking place in the world today because its leaders suggest that the Holy Ghost is guiding the Synod, whereas it is obvious that the guiding spirit is Satan.

Different Church Based on Congar’s Vision. Francis’s October 9, 2021 announcement that he intended to create a different church should have been entirely sufficient to alert every faithful Catholic shepherd that they had a moral obligation to oppose the Synod. Even if Francis had been a truly Catholic defender of the Faith, we know with certainty that no man can “create a different church” to replace the Catholic Church. Even worse, Francis told us that the inspiration behind his desire to create a different church (the Synodal Church) is Yves Congar, a leading Liberal theologian of Vatican II who twice urinated on the door of the Holy Office. We did not need to know anything further after that 2021 announcement: it was obvious then that it was not the Holy Ghost animating the Synod, so it must have been the spirit of Satan.

Within a few days, the Synod will release a new Instrumentum Laboris for the final planned Synodal session in October 2024. If we are tempted to think that this is of no real consequence to us because we have our Traditional Latin Masses and our pre-Vatican II catechisms, we should recall both that we are part of the Mystical Body of Christ and that this Synod is a profound offense against God carried out fraudulently in the name of the Catholic Church.

Prominent Role of Public Sinners and Heretics Who Openly Promote LGBTQ Agenda. The list of those leading the Synod on Synodality includes several public sinners and heretics who openly endorse the LGBTQ agenda including, among many others: Fr. James Martin, Cardinal Blase Cupich, Cardinal Robert McElroy, Cardinal Víctor Manuel “Tucho” Fernández, and Francis himself. While it is true that John XXIII similarly appointed men who had been suspected of heresy under Pius XII, few Catholics in 1962 still understood why the pre-Vatican II popes had opposed Neo-Modernism and its associated errors. However, every educated Christian for the past two-thousand years has known that sexual relations outside of marriage are gravely sinful and that sodomy is specifically condemned in the Bible. As such, the fact that pro-LGBTQ activists lead the Synod to advance anti-Christian initiatives is an unambiguously clear sign that the spirit guiding the Synod is not holy.

Enthronement of Vatican II as Basis for Synodal Religion. Vatican II has served as the basis for most of the post-Conciliar initiatives, but there has generally been some argument, however tenuous, that Vatican II was in continuity with the pre-Vatican II religion. With the Synod, all of that has been cast aside and the official starting point is now Vatican II. While it is true that the Synodal documents sometimes cite Biblical passages, there are almost no other references to documents other than those of Vatican II, John Paul II, and Francis. As the Synod’s 2021 Preparatory Document expressed, Vatican II is the starting point for the new journey toward wherever the spirit guides the Synod:

“With this convocation, Pope Francis invites the entire Church to reflect on a theme that is decisive for its life and mission: ‘It is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the Church of the third millennium.’ This journey, which follows in the wake of the Church’s ‘renewal’ proposed by the Second Vatican Council, is both a gift and a task: by journeying together and reflecting together on the journey that has been made, the Church will be able to learn through Her experience which processes can help Her to live communion, to achieve participation, to open Herself to mission.”

Whereas the Holy Ghose guides the Catholic Church to remain faithful to the immutable truths that have nourished all the saints, every step on the Synodal path takes the Synodal Church further away from what Our Lord entrusted to His Apostles. Thus, the spirit guiding that Synodal journey is not the Holy Ghost, and it is not holy.

Overt Rejection of Traditional Catholicism. As discussed in one of the initial Remnant articles on Francis’s Synod on Synodality, the Synod’s Preparatory Document says that everyone is welcome in the Synodal Process except for the “antagonists”:

“Then, there is the ‘extra’ actor, the antagonist, who brings to the scene the diabolical separation of the other three. Faced with the perturbing prospect of the cross, there are disciples who leave and mood-changing crowds. The insidiousness that divides—and, thus, thwarts a common path—manifests itself indifferently in the forms of religious rigor, of moral injunction that presents itself as more demanding than that of Jesus, and of the seduction of a worldly political wisdom that claims to be more effective than a discernment of spirits. In order to escape the deceptions of the ‘fourth actor,’ continuous conversion is necessary.”

Those who have followed Francis’s caustic anti-Catholic rhetoric over the past eleven years recognize that this “extra actor” referred to as an “antagonist” represents those who adhere to what the Catholic Church has always taught. But Traditional Catholics adhere to what the Church has always taught precisely because the Church has been guided by the Holy Ghost, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. So as Francis and the Synodal architects tell us that we must abandon what the Church has always taught and follow a new spirit that will lead us to beliefs that the Church has always condemned, we know with absolute certainty that the spirit leading the Synod is Satan.

So these laymen, religious, priests, and deacons sit around tables listening to each other and paying attention to each other’s “spiritual movements” as they talk about ways to depart from what the Catholic Church has always taught. And then they all decide what the Synodal Church will look like. This is from hell and leads to hell.

Conversation in the Spirit. Even those who have followed the Synod may not be familiar with the so-called “conversation in the spirit” method of discerning where the unholy spirit will lead. Cardinal Blase Cupich’s article on the heretical Jesuit publication America Magazine sheds more than sufficient light on the subject:

“Before the month-long meeting of the Synod on Synodality last October in Rome, delegates were invited to a pre-synod retreat led by Timothy Radcliffe, O.P. Part of the purpose of the retreat was to prepare us to participate in ‘a conversation in the Spirit,’ to use Pope Francis’ definition of the synodal process. I consider this reframing of synodality to be nothing short of revolutionary. . . . Lay women and men, religious, priests and deacons are now directly nominated by the pope to participate in synods. All have an equal say and an equal vote. But the most significant change was the redefinition of the synod as a ‘conversation in the Spirit.’ . . . Conversations in the Spirit ‘means paying attention to the spiritual movements in oneself and in the other person during the conversation, which requires being attentive to more than simply the words expressed. This quality of attention is an act of respecting, welcoming, and being hospitable to others as they are . . .’”

So these laymen, religious, priests, and deacons sit around tables listening to each other and paying attention to each other’s “spiritual movements” as they talk about ways to depart from what the Catholic Church has always taught. And then they all decide what the Synodal Church will look like. This is from hell and leads to hell.

Within a few days, the Synod will release a new Instrumentum Laboris for the final planned Synodal session in October 2024, but we do not need to see any more. We have seen enough — really too much — at this point.

What we need now — and have needed since October 2021 — is for Catholic shepherds who still have the Faith to stand up and denounce the entire Synod in no uncertain terms. Satan and his minions do not have a right to insult God and lead souls to hell, but they are doing so virtually unopposed because those shepherds who should be using the grace and gifts God has given them are burying their talents. This is the opportunity to stand and fight like heroes, like saints, and our shepherds can and should set the example. All of Heaven and the entire world is waiting for faithful Catholics to be the instruments of God’s victory against Satan and this unholy Synod. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!
