Remnant TV's CATHOLIC SAINTS AND HOLY DAYS pays homage to the great Saint Gertrude.

St. Gertrude the Great, or St. Gertrude of Helfta, was born on January 6, 1256 in Germany. She became a Benedictine, and her deep relationship with Christ in prayer led to her being hailed as a mystic.

She was also regarded as a great theologian.

Gertrude produced numerous writings, although only a few still exists today. One of her longest surviving works is Legatus Memorialis Abundantiae Divinae Pietatis (The Herald of Divine Love). Her other standing works include, her collection of Spiritual Exercises and Preces Gertrudianae (Gertrudian Prayers).

The Herald of Divine Love is composed of five different books. Book two is the core of the work, and was written solely by Gertrude. It is a notable piece of writing, because it includes detailed descriptions of Gertrude's visions and a veneration of Christ's heart.

Although Gertrude was never formally canonized, Rome approved a liturgical office of prayer and readings in her honor. To separate her from Abbess Gertrude of Hackeborn, Pope Benedict XIV gave her the title, "the Great," making her the only woman saint to be called, "the Great."

St. Gertrude the Great is the Patroness of the West Indies and she is often invoked for souls in purgatory. Her feast day is celebrated on November 16.

You think it’s all about Pachamama? Think again—it’s even worse!

Michael Matt was interviewed by Taylor Marshall this morning. Topics included everything from the history of the Traditionalist movement to the tremendous success of last weekend's CIC to the Amazon Synod and what we do now.

Watch the video below and join the ongoing discussion in the comments section.

Warm congratulations to our friends for the splash heard ‘round the world.

Their description and video follow:

"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them."

As the Catholic Identity Conference gets underway, Michael Matt sits down with Bishop Athanasius Schneider to discuss everything from the Amazon Synod to Freemasonry in the Church, the Second Vatican Council, Sedevacantism and the necessity of remaining faithful to the Church despite Revolution at the highest levels of the Church.

Bishop Schneider’s outspoken critique of the Amazon Synod is followed by a beautiful explanation of why deserting Mother Church at this her darkest hour is simply not an option, and how all the men and women of Christendom are called to come to the defense of the Bride of Christ.

Michael J. Matt discusses the real agenda of the Amazon Synod.

It's not women deacons, it's not worshiping little toy idols and it has nothing to do with listening to the indigenous peoples of the Amazon.

So, what's it really all about? Something so big and so evil and so ancient that it can only be described as apocalyptic.

In this Sunday Sermon from South Saint Paul, Father speaks of the horrific scandals coming out of Rome since the opening of the Amazon Synod. With these scandals occupying the thoughts of so many, Father takes a few moments to talk about three crucial teachings of the Church that must be understood at this frightening moment: Inerrancy, Infallibility and Indefectibility.

Who is Pachamama?

Leaving aside desperate Neo-Catholic claims to the contrary, the Pachamama (pronounced Pawch-mama) that is dominating the Amazon Synod is, in fact, the pagan “Earth Goddess” worshipped by the Incas of South America.

The Inca Empire (1200-1532) is the best documented of all the Peruvian civilizations and, as a result, much of what is known about the deities of the empire is also well-documented and relies less on the myths and conjecture typically associated with the study of other pagan religions.

The Incas worshipped the Sun God Inti and the Earth Goddess Pachamama. They also engaged in human sacrifice. In fact, the Andes Mountains were regarded as the sacred dwelling places of respected spirits, the 22,960-mountain peaks having once served as sites of human sacrifices. (Pachamama: Incan Earth Goddess)

What about Our Lady of Guadalupe?

When Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Saint Juan Diego in 1531, she made it clear that her mission was to dispel from the Americas the old serpent—Satan himself—and to reclaim those lands for her Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the King.

  • Cardinal Sins: Resisting Pope Francis
    New from Remnant TV (RTV)...

As the Four Cardinals make their historic stand against revolution in the Vatican, several bishops and one more cardinal move in to support them. Michael Matt tackles the question of what to do when a pope goes wrong. Do faithful lay Catholics have a role in stopping Pope Francis and the Modernists who put him in charge, or should the threat of causing scandal cause all of us to keep silent?

What does the Church teach? What would God have us do? Where do we go from here?

The Mike ‘n’ Chris show examines the latest publicity stunt out of the Vatican. In this Year of Mercy, Pope Francis is sending out 1,000 priests to absolve sins that every parish priest can already absolve. Why only 1000? What is this, a mercy monopoly? Does any of this make sense to you?

  • Bishop Schneider Interviewed by Michael Matt
Bishop Athanasius SchneiderBefore the recent Catholic Identity Conference, I sat down with Bishop Athanasius Schneider and asked him a few questions about the Traditional Latin Mass, Amoris Laetitia, Cardinal Burke and the Dubia, Communion in the hand, the coming desecration of the Eucharist, resisting Pope Francis, and the increasingly obvious failure that is the Second Vatican Council.

Please keep in mind that it was not my intent to “grill the bishop”. I have known him for some time and have come to respect him more than I can say. It was my intent to assist our readers and friends around the world to get to know this most courageous churchman—a man of faith and deep appreciation for the traditions of Holy Mother Church.
