New from Remnant TV...
Reporting from Rome, Michael J. Matt breaks down the nature and extent of Catholic resistance right from the Pope's own doorstep.
In the shadow of St. Peter's, several groups of Catholic faithful are organizing full-on demonstrations of principled resistance to the pontificate of Pope Francis and the upcoming Pan-Amazon Synod.
Is this how it ends? Will the Amazon Synod become known to history as the Great Amazon Schism that represented the final culmination of the Modernist Revolution in the Church?
New from Remnant TV...
This week from the Editor’s Desk, Michael Matt takes a much closer look at the eco-theology of the Pan-Amazonian Bishops Synod, to kick off in two weeks.
Do you think this is really about women deacons and married priests? Or is there something much more sinister going on?
Plus, in addition to calling for the establishment of a ‘new humanism,’ Francis borrows a page from Hillary Clinton’s playbook and tells the world that ‘it takes a village’ to establish peace and justice for all.
Dear Friends: There has been an overwhelming response to this year's Catholic Identity Conference, which resulted in our selling out two months before the conference is scheduled to take place.
I realize this is disappointing to those of you who’d planned to attend. However, the good news is that we now have plenty of time to set up a first-rate Video On-Demand service for this year’s CIC.
"Father Martin suggests that Catholic teaching on same-sex attraction as ‘objectively disordered’ (for example, in CCC 2358) is cruel and should be modified... The Catechism also describes lust, extra-marital relations, and contracepted sex (2351), masturbation (2352), and even non-sexual sins such as lying and calumny (1753), as intrinsically 'disordered.' The suggestion that the wisdom of the Church, rooted in the Word of God and centuries of human experience, is somehow cruel or misguided does grave harm to her mission. Families have been destroyed because of this misperception, and Father Martin regrettably contributes ambiguity to issues that demand a liberating biblical clarity." - Archbishop Chaput
Crusade Starts Today!
This week Cardinal Burke and Bishop Athanasius Schneider issued an eight-page declaration warning against six “serious theological errors and heresies” and calling for prayer and fasting in the run-up to the Synod. Their instructions are detailed below:
"We propose a forty-day crusade of prayer and fasting to begin on September 17 and end on October 26, 2019, the day before the conclusion of the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for the PanAmazon.
Anyone who first learns about the Crusade after the date of its beginning can naturally join the Crusade at any point.
During the forty-day crusade of prayer and fasting, we propose to pray daily at least one decade of the Holy Rosary and to fast once a week for the above mentioned intentions.
According to the tradition of the Church, fasting consists in eating only one full meal during the day, and additionally, one may eat up to two smaller meals. Fasting on bread and water is also recommended to those who are able to do so."

ANTI-FRANCIS WINDS OF CHANGE...
Francis says Catholics must obey the United Nations.
Francis claims his critics use “rigid ideology” to mask their own moral failings.
The organizers of this year’s Catholic Identity Conference are very pleased to welcome a last-minute addition to the speaker roster: Crisis Magazine’s Editor, Michael Warren Davis.
Before Crisis, Davis served as U.S. Editor of the Catholic Herald of London, overseeing the launch of its American edition. He got his start in journalism in Australia, working as deputy editor of Quadrant magazine and a weekly columnist for The Spectator's Australian edition.
Davis has written for a variety of publications including The American Conservative, First Things, The Salisbury Review, and (not least) The Remnant. He has appeared on television and radio around the world, including Fox News's Tucker Carlson Tonight and Network 10's The Project.

In his article, "Pope Francis Addresses Criticism of His Pontificate and Discusses ‘Schism’", Edward Pentin informs his readers that: "On the papal plane from Madagascar on Tuesday, Pope Francis said he always welcomes constructive criticism but not ‘pills of arsenic’ which he says can come from ‘rigid’ critics who hide behind orthodoxy and should be treated ‘with meekness.’"
According the Pentin, Francis set up the following almost laughable scenario for reporters on the plane to Madagascar: "Regarding the case of the Pope: I don’t like this aspect of the Pope, I criticize him, I speak about him, I write an article and ask him to respond, this is fair. To criticize without wanting to hear a response and without getting into dialogue is not to have the good of the Church at heart, it is chasing after a fixed idea, to change the Pope or to create a schism. This is clear: a fair criticism is always well received, at least by me." (Emphasis added)
New from Remnant TV...
As Cardinals Burke and Brandmüller send letters to the College of Cardinals, warning that apostasy threatens to find its way into the tribal socialist Pan-Amazonian Synod in Rome next month, Michael J. Matt explains how October’s Synod of Bishops is on a trajectory set a half-century ago at the Second Vatican Council.
Matteo Salvini was pushed out of power in Italy last week, thanks to a Vatican-backed initiative to undermine the rosary-kissing Catholic populist who frequently called on Our Lady and the patron saints of Europe to protect Italy’s sovereignty, soul and borders.
