Well there's always that, Holiness.
The Holy Father's politically correct pontificating where the "religion of peace" is concerned is nothing new, of course. He's been at it for years. For example:
Thinking Catholics everywhere are not impressed and, according to a new report over at Breitbart.com, neither is the Islamic State.
ISIS came out publicly this week with a manifesto that specifically rejects "Pope Francis’ claims that the war being waged by Islamic terrorists is not religious in nature, assuring the pontiff that their sole motivation is religious and sanctioned by Allah in the Qur’an.
"In the most recent issue of Dabiq, the propaganda magazine of the Islamic State, ISIS criticizes Pope Francis for his naïveté in clinging to the conviction that Muslims want peace and that acts of Islamic terror are economically motivated. 'This is a divinely-warranted war between the Muslim nation and the nations of disbelief,' the authors state in an article titled “By the Sword.”
"The Islamic State directly attacks Francis for claiming that 'authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Quran are opposed to every form of violence,' saying that by doing this, 'Francis continues to hide behind a deceptive veil of ‘good will,’ covering his actual intentions of pacifying the Muslim nation.'
Pope Francis “has struggled against reality” in his efforts to portray Islam as a religion of peace, the article insists, before going on to urge all Muslims to take up the sword of jihad, the “greatest obligation” of a true Muslim.
“Indeed, waging jihad – spreading the rule of Allah by the sword – is an obligation found in the Quran, the word of our Lord...The blood of the disbelievers is obligatory to spill by default. The command is clear. Kill the disbelievers, as Allah said, ‘Then kill the polytheists wherever you find them.’” READ ARTICLE HERE
REMNANT RESPONSE: Fifty years of dialogue and ecumenical outreach notwithstanding, these guys do have a point. In his effort to love-bomb Islam into ecumenical bliss, he really is missing the point.
Perhaps the Holy Father would do better to consider that, even as there are no violent Catholic groups running around blowing people up and engaging in ritual beheadings and every manner of atrocity against those with whom they disagree; that the truly revolutionary law of the religion founded by Jesus Christ is to love God above all else, love one's neighbor as oneself, love one's enemies, and even to turn the other cheek--it really isn't necessary for the Pope to speak of "Catholic violence" if he ever decides to speak of "Islamic violence". In fact, this is such an outrageous thing to say that even ISIS is laughing at it.
But what isn't very funny at all is that, in as much as Francis refuses to condemn the violent Islamic conquest of Europe and America and all that entails, he is only emboldening a very serious enemy that has promised to put all Christians to the sword.
Instead of condemning this hateful threat leveled against Christians, Francis (incredibly!) introduces the absurd notion that Christians are just as prone to hate and violence as Muslims.
What is wrong with this man!
First off, with statements such as these, Francis is making common cause with far-Left Christophobic crazies such as those at the Southern Poverty Law Center--folks who are actively working to brand all serious Christians as haters and enemies of the state.
But more importantly, the Pope's increasingly reckless statements are beginning to present a clear and present danger to the lives and liberties of Christians everywhere, as well as to the Church's mission to teach, govern and sanctify the whole world.
It is time to move beyond merely pointing out the myriad problems with this pope and proceed to call upon those bishops and cardinals of the Church who have kept the Faith to take the necessary steps to stop this man before he completely destroys what's left of the human element of Christ's holy Church.
God help us all, the pontificate of Jorge Mario Bergoglio is spinning out of control.
