Pope vs Trump: Who's More Pro-Life?

The Pope doesn’t agree with the President’s policies on immigration, so naturally, he attacks Trump’s pro-life values…?

LifeNews.com/ Sept. 11, 2017: During an interview with a reporter from Mexico, the leader of the Catholic Church questioned President Trump’s pro-life values because of his recent decision to end DACA, a program that prevents undocumented young people from being deported. Francis says Trump’s decision to stop the program betrays his pro-life views and devalues family.

Here’s more:

In a half-hour press conference on the flight back to Rome Sept. 10 after a five-day visit to Colombia, the pontiff also said he hoped Trump would reconsider his decision to stop the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also known as DACA.

“I have heard the President of the United States speak,” the pope said, responding to a question from a Mexican journalist about Trump’s decision. “He presents himself as a pro-life man. If he is a good pro-lifer, he should understand that the family is the cradle of life and you must defend its unity.”

Francis said that while he has not studied the specifics of the DACA program, he believes “removing young people from their family is not a thing that bears good fruit, neither for the young person nor the family.”

The pope said he is especially worried about young people who become detached from their roots and lose hope in the future, even then choosing to commit suicide. “Young people today need to re-find their roots,” he said. “And anything that goes against this robs them of hope.”

However, president Donald Trump has governed consistently pro-life since taking office in January.

During his first days in office he put the Mexico City policy back in place that protects taxpayers from funding International Planned Parenthood and its Global abortion agenda. He also signed an executive order to defund the UNFPA, United Nations agency that promotes abortion internationally and supports China’s population control program. Trump then expanded the order to defund Internation Planned Parenthood beyond what other pro-life presidents had done.

President Trump also cut off funding for sex education programs run by the Planned Parenthood abortion business that bring young people into its abortion agenda and builds the abortion company’s clientele. He also signed a bill to allow states to defund Planned Parenthood abortion company.

Trump also put pro-life advocates in key places such as Jess Sessions as Attorney General, Tom Price as HHS Secretary and Nikki Haley as UN Ambassador. READ MORE HERE

REMNANT COMMENT: I wonder if it’s possible for Pope Francis be any more in the tank for the Far-Left than he is now.  For the purposes of this Remnant Comment, it makes no difference what one thinks about President Trump's personal beliefs on the pro-life issue.  The point is this: A massive disruption in global pro-death politics came about in November of 2016 when a man named Donald Trump convinced pro-life, pro-God, pro-family America that he'd take up their cause.

Was it just politics? Who knows!  But Trump rode to the White House on the shoulders of pro-lifers. This is why the Left hate him, because he convinced good people that although his pro-life cred was far from established, he'd nevertheless make their cause part of his cause, along with the core issues that have long defined him—Second Amendment rights, education choice (including home-schooling), appointing conservative judges, tightening up the national borders, making America user unfriendly to the George Soros, NWO, EU whackos, etc.

And so far Trump gets a B+ for effort, despite overwhelming opposition from the "conservative" GOP who've been lying to and exploiting the same group of voters for nearly half a century. At least Trump is trying to make good on his word to regular God-fearing Americans.

So, for the Pope to continue to blast this particular President while obstinately ignoring what's going on at the level of pro-life America reveals a positively Titanic Leftist keeling over of the Barque of Francis.

And for Francis to suggest some sort of moral equivalence between the slaughter of millions of babies in their mothers' wombs on the one hand, and the MSNBC caricature of Trump’s DACA decision on the other, is beyond scandalous.

Even if Trump were really planning to send illegal kids back to Mexico without their families (and he’s not, of course), this would not come close to the satanic depravity of murdering millions of unborn babies every year. I realize the Holy Father is no great theologian, but even he should be able to glean the difference between killing millions of kids in their mothers’ wombs and sending a few thousand home every year.

It's so obscene, in fact, that even those of us here at The Remnant who defend the Church's teaching against the separation of Church and State are tempted to encourage the Holy Father to begin listening to his own blather on the great merits of the secular state and the need to maintain proper separation from the Church.  In the case of Francis, good idea!   Perhaps the Holy Father could be persuaded to give pro-life America a break, in fact, and stay out of our politics altogether.

Really, Holiness, you’ve done enough. It’s time to stop talking.
