Or, Post Mortem of a Mass Hysteria...

  • In the hue and cry to do absolutely anything possible to avoid those deaths which might be hastened by covid-19, what about all the deaths and suffering which will be caused by a disproportionate overreaction to covid-19?

_________

I’ll begin by stating the obvious. When vulnerable people are at risk of harm, most of us would willingly and keenly do our part to protect them. But the question not being addressed at all, is what actions are proportionate to the danger at hand and what course of action will do more harm than good?

dear Mr Trump

Here’s the latest from Bill Gates: “Dr. Fauci and I believe the country won’t get back to normal until there’s a vaccine, and a vaccine is still 18 months away.” Come again? "Dr. Fauci and I...?"

Why are these guys so jacked up on vaccines?  Michael Matt explains: Gates believes a vaccinated family is a healthy family, and a healthy family will not want many children, and fewer children reduce overpopulation.

Therefore, global vaccination will save the planet from climate change. (Yes, he's serious.)

Francis being amazing... again

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day yesterday, Pope Francis issued a weird sort of papal confession to Pachamama during one of his increasingly bizarre Wednesday Audiences: "We have sinned against the earth,” confessed His Holiness, prompting Christians around the world to lament: Wouldn’t it be great if Francis cared this much about aborted babies?

Understandably, several news agencies rendered this as a kind of blasphemous play on the words of the Our Father: “Pope says nature will not forgive our trespasses.”

ITALIAN POLICE RAID a Catholic church and try to stop an old priest from saying Mass. You’ll never guess what this courageous priest does!

As the United States fights to fend off a medical dictatorship, Michael Matt comments on the increasingly obvious connection between this situation and the Utopian vision of the population-controlling fanatics.

In an article of April 2, 2020, a major Italian newspaper, Rome-based Il Messaggero, reports that Bellegra, a small town in the Lazio hinterland adjacent to the Sublacense area (named after its main city Subiaco) has so far not recorded any case of contagion from coronavirus, ostensibly thanks to the timely action of its mayor, Flavio Cera.

 covid19 hazmat closed world

The CV phenomenon is slowly eroding every semblance of coherent cognition, leading politicos—governmental, entrepreneurial, and ecclesiastical—to equally outrageous and preposterous courses of action, which, taken individually and in isolation, seemingly border on the most despicable varieties of insidious autocratic and despotic imperatives.

CAN ANYONE HONESTLY deny the current colossal and outrageous frenzy that is enveloping the world?

Coronamania has swept over the land like some mysterious zephyr subtly and noiselessly permeating every nook and cranny of human thought—a concocted highly-imaginative fantasy absorbing both waking and non-waking hours, rendering  contemplation, reflection and any other higher order cognitive activity helplessly vapid and bereft of any hoped-for, tension-relieving conclusionary cessation.

Good news! If you are infected with COVID19, a new report says you have a 98% chance of recovering from it.  Why is the mainstream media not reporting the good news?

In this Special Edition of ‘From the Editor’s Desk’, Michael Matt asks the question we all want answered:  Yes the virus is deadly, but won’t euthanizing the U.S. economy be even deadlier?

Priest Calls On Faithful Catholics To Pray Today

From the parking lot on Good Friday, Father calls on faithful Catholics to, in cooperation with Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano's urgent plea to the world's bishops and priests to pray the exorcism of Pope Leo XIII today, to join our shepherds in praying a Rosary and the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel today, Holy Saturday.

In the middle of the national lock down, let us thank God that some of our priests and bishops are refusing to abandon us. Like St. John, they would stay with the followers of Jesus Christ all the way to the foot of the Cross.

good friday

History and Scripture show that ever since Adam and Eve men tend to want a God cut down to their own size: a God fashioned in their own likeness. What they don’t want is a God of infinite perfection who asks them to rise above themselves, above concupiscence and self-love, and strive to be perfect, even as their heavenly Father is perfect.

Men who have a strong tendency to be this way are likely to have difficulty also with the mystery of the Incarnation. Their hearts find it intolerable that an Infinite God should so love the world as to give His only-begotten Son to die in torments for love of us. You understand that what makes this intolerable is the implied obligation of making a like return of love; of putting off the “old Adam” and conforming oneself to Christ the new Adam.

URGENT GLOBAL PRESS RELEASEExorcism pic

ON OCTOBER 13, 1884, Leo XIII had a terrible vision of the assault of the powers of Hell against Holy Mother Church, and ordered the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel to be said at the end of Mass. He also composed an Act of Exorcism and ordered it to be inserted into the Roman Ritual, and explicitly mentioned what he had seen: “The Church, the Spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, has been filled with bitterness and inebriated with poison by her crafty enemies, who have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the place where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.”

In these modern times of terrible tribulation, when the pandemic has deprived Catholics of Holy Mass and the Sacraments, the Evil One has gone into a frenzy and multiplied his attacks to tempt souls into sin. These blessed days of Holy Week, which used to be the ideal time to go to Confession to prepare ourselves for our Easter Communion, now see us locked inside our houses, but they cannot stop us praying to Our Lord.

then now graphic 2Mass on Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima, then... closed churches now?

  • For God's sake, Your Excellencies, open our churches and let our priests bring the Lumen Christi to dispel the tenebrae of fear and debilitating panic. Do not let the anti-God, anti-family and anti-life secular state lock us out of the very places where hope springs eternal and where men are emboldened by God Himself to resist oppression. For God's sake and the future of our country, open the churches now!" - Michael J. Matt

Editor's Note: On this Wednesday in Holy Week, I'd like to dedicate the following article to all the heroic priests in the world today who are defying the fearmongers of secularism by finding a way to keep the sacramental life of the Church active in the lives of faithful Catholics. The present crisis is sustained by fear. Fear is crippling. Fear causes men to become weak and easily controlled.  Karl Marx was wrong. Religion is not the "opium of the masses" but rather the thing that makes us who we are and gives life its deepest meaning and most profound purpose. Men like Marx could not compete with religion and so they mocked it and suggested it is only meaningful for the unenlightened and oppressed masses who have nothing else. But they were wrong.

A hundred years later, atheism has shown itself to be the dark place where Hope goes to die. In the face of true religion, even the most ruthless state is powerless to oppress the people. If the good priests stand with their flocks today--if the consolation of the Sacraments is maintained--then the very worst potential of this suffocating global shutdown can be kept at bay. To our bishops, then, let us desperately send this message here in Holy Week:
