Good news! If you are infected with COVID19, a new report says you have a 98% chance of recovering from it.  Why is the mainstream media not reporting the good news?

In this Special Edition of ‘From the Editor’s Desk’, Michael Matt asks the question we all want answered:  Yes the virus is deadly, but won’t euthanizing the U.S. economy be even deadlier?

Priest Calls On Faithful Catholics To Pray Today

From the parking lot on Good Friday, Father calls on faithful Catholics to, in cooperation with Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano's urgent plea to the world's bishops and priests to pray the exorcism of Pope Leo XIII today, to join our shepherds in praying a Rosary and the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel today, Holy Saturday.

In the middle of the national lock down, let us thank God that some of our priests and bishops are refusing to abandon us. Like St. John, they would stay with the followers of Jesus Christ all the way to the foot of the Cross.

good friday

History and Scripture show that ever since Adam and Eve men tend to want a God cut down to their own size: a God fashioned in their own likeness. What they don’t want is a God of infinite perfection who asks them to rise above themselves, above concupiscence and self-love, and strive to be perfect, even as their heavenly Father is perfect.

Men who have a strong tendency to be this way are likely to have difficulty also with the mystery of the Incarnation. Their hearts find it intolerable that an Infinite God should so love the world as to give His only-begotten Son to die in torments for love of us. You understand that what makes this intolerable is the implied obligation of making a like return of love; of putting off the “old Adam” and conforming oneself to Christ the new Adam.

URGENT GLOBAL PRESS RELEASEExorcism pic

ON OCTOBER 13, 1884, Leo XIII had a terrible vision of the assault of the powers of Hell against Holy Mother Church, and ordered the prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel to be said at the end of Mass. He also composed an Act of Exorcism and ordered it to be inserted into the Roman Ritual, and explicitly mentioned what he had seen: “The Church, the Spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, has been filled with bitterness and inebriated with poison by her crafty enemies, who have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the place where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.”

In these modern times of terrible tribulation, when the pandemic has deprived Catholics of Holy Mass and the Sacraments, the Evil One has gone into a frenzy and multiplied his attacks to tempt souls into sin. These blessed days of Holy Week, which used to be the ideal time to go to Confession to prepare ourselves for our Easter Communion, now see us locked inside our houses, but they cannot stop us praying to Our Lord.

then now graphic 2Mass on Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima, then... closed churches now?

  • For God's sake, Your Excellencies, open our churches and let our priests bring the Lumen Christi to dispel the tenebrae of fear and debilitating panic. Do not let the anti-God, anti-family and anti-life secular state lock us out of the very places where hope springs eternal and where men are emboldened by God Himself to resist oppression. For God's sake and the future of our country, open the churches now!" - Michael J. Matt

Editor's Note: On this Wednesday in Holy Week, I'd like to dedicate the following article to all the heroic priests in the world today who are defying the fearmongers of secularism by finding a way to keep the sacramental life of the Church active in the lives of faithful Catholics. The present crisis is sustained by fear. Fear is crippling. Fear causes men to become weak and easily controlled.  Karl Marx was wrong. Religion is not the "opium of the masses" but rather the thing that makes us who we are and gives life its deepest meaning and most profound purpose. Men like Marx could not compete with religion and so they mocked it and suggested it is only meaningful for the unenlightened and oppressed masses who have nothing else. But they were wrong.

A hundred years later, atheism has shown itself to be the dark place where Hope goes to die. In the face of true religion, even the most ruthless state is powerless to oppress the people. If the good priests stand with their flocks today--if the consolation of the Sacraments is maintained--then the very worst potential of this suffocating global shutdown can be kept at bay. To our bishops, then, let us desperately send this message here in Holy Week:

In the middle of the #COVID19 pandemic, many Catholic bishops and priests locked the faithful out of their own churches, bowing to the state's decision that the Sacraments are 'non-essential' services.

Some brave priests have refused to abandon their flocks. Here in St. Paul, Minnesota, for example, one priest is making sure his congregation is not deprived of the great consolation of Holy Mother Church during this dark moment in human history.

“YOU HAVE SAID SO”

“Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
And they were very sorrowful, and began to say to him one after another,
“Is it I, Lord?” He answered, “He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me, will betray me.
The Son of man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed!
It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
Judas, who betrayed him, said, “Is it I, Master?”
He said to him, “You have said so.”
Mt 26, 20-25

On March 25, the 2020 Pontifical Yearbook was published with a real novelty. It may seem like a typographical trifle, in the part dedicated to the reigning pontiff, but this is not the case. Until last year, in fact, Francis’s titles were listed at the top of the page, beginning with “Vicar of Christ”, “Successor of the Prince of the Apostles” etc., and ending with his birth name and a very brief biography.

Panic kills. So let's kill panic before panic kills us.

Ready for some good news? Tom Hanks has not only recovered but is back in the States and doing just fine. Given how much media attention was given to his testing positive for COVID-19, we wonder why more media attention isn't being paid to his recovery.

Is it going to be "the sky is falling" and "it's the end of the world" for the rest of the summer? What's going on here?

Remnant Editor's Introduction: During this seemingly apocalyptic moment, we must be ever mindful of the fact that, despite the great apostasy that's been unfolding in the Church for decades, God Himself has not abandoned us.

Good priests all over the world are answering the call of the disenfranchised faithful, to help them maintain the lumen Christi in the midst of the present darkness that seems to be enveloping the whole world. In this moment of desolation, many of them are beginning to understand the warp and woof of the Modernist revolution that has decimated the Catholic Church, nearly destroyed the venerable Roman Rite and now finally left us all spiritually abandoned outside of locked churches.

schneider sermonBishop Athanasius Schneider

ROME, March 27, 2020 — As the coronavirus continues to spread, Bishop Athanasius Schneider has urged priests to imitate Jesus the Good Shepherd and, for the sake of souls, even disobey the unjust orders of bishops whom he says are now behaving more like “civil bureaucrats” than “shepherds.”

In a new interview on the Church’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic (see full text below), the auxiliary bishop of Saint Mary in Astana, Kazakhstan, said he believes the majority of Catholic bishops reacted “precipitously and out of panic in prohibiting all public Masses.” The decision to close churches, he said, is “even more incomprehensible.”

Leaving politics and conspiracy out of it for a moment, families need to make sure their little ones are protected from apprehension overload. We will come together as a Christian community and we will get through this. Let’s make sure that our children know that tonight when they go to sleep.

TODAY, THE WORLD is being hit with a tsunami of bad news, non-stop, shaking up every level of our past sense of security, and sending us all in a whirlwind of uncertainty and unparalleled fears. Just last month, the economy had been better than ever, the stock market’s numbers were through the roof, businesses were reporting impressive gains and stability: a comfortable financial oasis for those living in America! But suddenly, blindsiding us all, the paradigm has changed—a microscopic enemy like a virus morphed into astronomical global changes and harm. For many, what took three years or more to attain was gone in three months or three days. Others lived month to month asking, how will I pay all my bills next bill cycle? This month’s primary stressor is: will I live long enough to have to pay next month’s bills?
