Remnant Articles

Recently used by Cardinal Müller,[i] the phrase “practical heresy” has been popularized in a couple of his latest articles by Timothy Flanders,[ii] the editor-in-chief of One Peter Five (1P5). Essentially, this concept refers to any religious practice that contradicts, through deeds and actions, a revealed doctrine. We will take the teaching on marriage as an example.

There is no other subject more challenging than that of unfulfilled prophecies. Whether it’s the sacred texts of the Bible, non-Christian religious works, or certain literary creations (and not just those belonging to the “fantasy” genre), prophecies are everywhere. Especially in dark times like ours, when epochal events happen, predictions about the present and future are continuously explored. In a very recent article, Timothy Flanders asserts unequivocally: “We are witnessing something huge.”[i]

Last night I watched Sean Hannity for the first time in more than a year. As I watched, I was reminded of the build-up to the Rwandan genocide back in 1994. It took place in a predominantly Christian country, between the Hutus and the Tutsis.

Shades of Rwanda

Catholic Identity Conference, Pittsburgh, September 30, 2023ed pentin cic

Introduction

Thanks largely to Covid, it’s been 6 years since I’ve had the honor of speaking at the CIC and as we know, much has changed since then.

Except one thing: Pope Francis is still waging his revolution, and with more gusto than ever, resulting in ever deepening divisions, persecution from within and from the top, a pervading atmosphere of fear, the fostering of mediocrity and hypocrisy, and the looming threat of formal schism.

“[W]e have never wished to belong to this system which calls itself the Conciliar Church, and defines itself with the Novus Ordo Missæ, an ecumenism which leads to indifferentism and the laicization of all society. . . We ask for nothing better than to be declared out of communion with this adulterous spirit which has been blowing in the Church for the last 25 years . . . We believe in the One God, Our Lord Jesus Christ, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, and we will always remain faithful to His unique Spouse, the One Holy Catholic Apostolic and Roman Church.” (SSPX District Superiors, Open Letter to Cardinal Gantin, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, July 6, 1988)

In this episode of The Remnant Underground, host Michael J. Matt comments on various aspects of a new Reign of Terror – from the Francis removing Bishop Strickland, to massive victories for pro-abort Americans, to war crimes in the Holy Land.

But, there’s good news, too – the WEF co-founder calls for the arrest of Klaus Schwab, Elon Musk unloads on Covid “cures” that did more harm than good, one of the WEF’s Global Leader of the Tomorrow apologies for supporting lockdowns, the UN Sec Gen Gutters sounds the alarm that the UN Sustainable Development Goals are on life support.

Plus, high-profile cardinals and bishops in Rome engage in massive pushback against Francis, the Synod on Synodality, and the Vatican/Davos alliance.

This thing ain’t over, friends. God will not be mocked.

The Holy See Press Office announced today that Pope Francis has removed Bishop Strickland as Bishop of Tyler and replaced him in the interim with Bishop Joe Vásquez of Austin.

Cardinal DiNardo wrote this statement of "explanation":

Cardinal DiNardo Statement

This is total war. Francis is a clear and present danger not only to Catholics the world over but also to the whole world itself. It appears now that he is actively trying to bury fidelity to the Church of Jesus Christ. If this is so, let him be anathema.

God bless you, Your Excellency. We stand with you now and, please God, for all eternity.

Here is the last tweet of Bishop Strickland as Bishop of Tyler, written the night before his dismissal:

"Rejoice always that…no matter what the day brings Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, yesterday, today and forever. May the saints and the Blessed Virgin Mary always inspire us to return to Christ no matter how we may wander into darkness. Jesus is Light from Light."

Below you will find all of RTV's videos from the final week of the Synod from Hell. Did it succeed? Did it crash and burn?

Included are glimpses into the highest-profile Catholic resistance movement in 50 years, and the Rosetta Stone to decode the entire Synodal agenda:

Caught in the midst of the modernist whirlwind, which, as taught by Pope Pius X, is a “synthesis of all heresies,”[i] we see how all teachings of faith – and especially those of a moral nature – are under attack from all sides. In such a situation, a reevaluation and deepening of our own Christian faith is absolutely necessary. We must begin by asking ourselves how thoroughly we know the faith of the Church founded by our King and Lord, Jesus Christ.

The tweet of Father Thomas Crean O.P.

In a tweet written on October 8, one day before the feast of Saint John Henry Newman (1801–1890), the Dominican Father Thomas Crean drew attention to one of the most interesting comments made by the Oxford scholar about the last times.[i] It’s about an excerpt from the conclusion of Newman’s fourth and final lecture in the series entitled The Patristical Idea of Antichrist in Four Lectures.[ii]

In his Communism and the Conscience of the West, Bishop Fulton Sheen foretold the eventual rise of Satan’s ape church:

“In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be the brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ.” (p. 24)
