LATIN MASS ROCKS: It’s Our Turn

New spotlight from RTV...

During the 17th Century post-Reformation persecution in England and Ireland, the so-called Penal Laws were imposed against Catholics to prevent them from practicing the Roman Catholic religion.

The various acts of the Penal Law prescribed fines, imprisonment, and severe penalties – including execution – for Catholic priests who offered the Latin Mass and Catholic faithful who participated in it.

Heroic Catholic priests took to the woods to offer the “illegal” Latin Mass on makeshift altars and piles of rocks known in history as the “Mass rocks.” It was upon these that the Latin Mass was preserved for more than a hundred years of anti-Catholic persecution.

When I was boy, I learned to serve the Latin Mass, not on Mass rocks, but on an altar my father had “rescued” from a local church and installed in his makeshift basement chapel in my childhood home after the Latin Mass had been suppressed in the days following the close of Vatican II.

As I grew up, outlawed Masses were regularly celebrated on that altar by outlawed priests who had refused to comply with the Modernist Revolution in the Church.

Under Big Brother Francis it is quite possible that we will again have to return to those catacomb chapels and Mass rocks in the woods. If that happens, so be it.

In the spirt of the Irish Catholics, the English martyrs, the French Vendeans, the Mexican Cristeros, the Spanish Carlists, we will not let them take the Latin Mass away from us again. It’s the Mass that mattered then, and it’s the Mass that matters now. Resist and unite the clans!
