This Week’s Featured Article…

Michael J. Matt: Out On a Limb: Catholics for Hillary Clinton

an a limb
Trump makes little effort to court the Catholic vote—25 % of the electorate. Why not? Because there’s no point. Catholics have become so compromised that the far-Left pro-aborts have come to count on us to help them win elections.

Well played, Vatican II!

So what role should Traditional Catholics play in all this? Are we really always and forever just about ‘liturgical preferences’?

Jesse Russel, Ph.D. Progressivism as Satanism

Pope John Paul II’s writings are littered with progressive statements, indicating that he was a strong believer in the idea that things are getting better over time, and some great new age was being born in the 20th century. Was he right? Where did this utopian idea come from?

Christopher A. Ferrara: Don Mario’s Moral Mafia

This is an expanded version of an article that appeared here on this site earlier in the week.

Alberto Carosa: Anti-Lepanto: Hiding Our Lady for Fear of the Moors

This is an outrage!
On the 19-21 August weekend in Rimini, Italy, during the annual meeting organized by Communion and Liberation (CL), a statue of the Virgin Mary was covered by a cloth “to avoid clashes” with Islamic extremists.

Lives of the Saints:  The Branded Brothers: Sts. Theodore and Theophanes

For their defense of the Church against the Iconoclast heretics, they were laid up on benches and the letters cut or pricked upon their skin. This barbarity took a long time and was interrupted by the coming on of night, so the torture was completed the next day.

Lost in the Fifties, Too:  Some Observations on Democracy

Penned by the founder of The Remnant on July 27, 1950

A Blast from the Past: By the late, great Louis Salleron

Pope Francis and the entire Ecclesial sellout to the modern zeitgeist was predicted in The Remnant back in May of 1976.This article makes it abundantly obvious that Francis is part of a continuum.

Michael J. Matt:   Cardinal Burke Rejects the Idea of ‘Schism’

But is schism really the problem anymore? What is more important for faithful Catholics—the truth, or the prevention of schism at all costs?

Vincent Chiarello: A Remnant Book Review…
OLD THUNDER, THE LIFE OF HILAIRE BELLOC

by Joseph Pearce.  Absolute must-read—the book and the review. Learn to love the great Mr. Belloc -- a pioneer Traditional Catholic.

Father Celatus: The Last Word… On Apocalyptic Beasts, Whores of Babylon and False Prophets

Or – On Obama, Hillary, Francis and the end times.

(“If ever there was a time for the Society of St. Pius X to resist and remain independent,
it is the present.” – Father Celatus)
