THE PRESENTERS

Sr. Margherita Marchione, Ph.D.

Sr. Margherita, a sister with the Religious Teachers Filippini, is a leading scholar on the life of Pope Pius XII. She has led the fight to defend Pius against charges that he did little on behalf of Jews during World War II and is a passionate champion of the his canonization. She has several titles in print on the subject of Pope Pius, including a biography, Pope Pius XII: Architect for Peace. Two books tackle head-on the history of the Holocaust in Italy and the Pope’s role. Consensus and Controversy: Defending Pope Pius XII and Yours Is a Precious Witness: Memoirs of Jews and Catholics in Wartime Italy.

Rabbi David G. Dalin, Ph.D.

David G. Dalin, an ordained Rabbi, is a Professor of History and Political Science at Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida. He is the author or co-author of several books, including The Presidents of the United States and the Jews (with Mr. Jonathan D. Sarna) and Religion and State in the American Jewish Experience. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, his M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University, and his Rabbinic Ordination from the
Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

John C. Rao, D.Phil., Oxon.

In his books, essays, and uncounted lectures over the past thirty years, Dr. Rao has done the Catholic faithful (indeed many interested non-Catholics as well) an enormous service in giving them a deep appreciation of the stupendous riches of the Catholic Church, manifested over the centuries in her liturgy, her theology, and the innumerable artistic achievements that she has inspired and patronized, giving to the God something of the glory that is His due. Dr. Rao is the noted author of Americanism and the Collapse of the Church in the United States.
